This month let's look at self-discipline and accountability to assist you in meeting your goals for 2024. This week is about how you handle it when you miss the mark.

 Quote

"Don't use all or nothing thinking. Take each day as its own day, and don't worry about it if you mess up one day.  The most important thing you can do is just get back up on the horse." ---Henry Cloud

Just because you practiced good self-discipline one day doesn't mean you will every day.  It's like brushing your teeth, once isn't enough, you have to brush them each day.  Self- discipline is the same, it must be done every day.

Today's Coaching Challenge

If losing weight is your goal and you go off your diet, how do you handle that?  Do you eat a quart of ice cream or consume a whole bag of chips and tell yourself you'll never lose the weight?   Or do you forgive yourself and get right back on your eating plan?

When you don't take action or make a mistake that doesn't mean that the entire day is a failure.  Simply start over.  The more you acknowledge that you are a work in progress and continue to start over the sooner we will develop the habit and being disciplined will become second nature.

Action to take

If you are resisting taking the necessary actions use some time today to ask yourself "Why".  If what you are trying to accomplish isn't something that you want but you are simply doing it for others, you may want to rethink the goal.

Always supporting you,                                                                                                                                                                                                  Jan
